We're excited to announce a comprehensive partnership with Brevis that brings two major innovations to the BNB ecosystem: trustless cross-chain restaking infrastructure and an advanced "Propose-Challenge" ZK Coprocessor model.

Revolutionizing BNB Chain Security with Cross-chain Restaking

As BNB Chain's primary restaking solution, Kernel enables BNB holders to participate in multiple staking opportunities across various Dynamic Validator Networks (DVNs), multiplying reward potential while securing multiple protocols simultaneously. Our partnership with Brevis now extends this security beyond the BNB Chain.

Through Brevis's ZK Coprocessor and their fastest Tendermint and PoA Light Client for BNB Chain, we're implementing trustless cross-chain restaking that allows:

  • Extension of BNB Chain's economic security to sidechains and layer 2s.

  • Increased rewards for BNB holders participating in cross-chain DVNs.

  • Simplified security integration for cross-chain application developers.

  • Trustless consensus relaying through ZK Proofs.

Introducing the "Propose-Challenge" ZK Coprocessor

Building on our partnership, we're launching an innovative "Propose-Challenge" ZK Coprocessor model that combines crypto-economic security with ZK Proofs. Brevis will be launching this innovative model as a DVN in addition to the “pure-ZK” model.

When Brevis accepts co processing requests, instead of generating a ZK Proof for each request, it is able to generate “optimistic” results through a PoS consensus reached by Kernel’s operators. These results can be challenged via ZK fraud proof during a designated window, ensuring reliability while significantly reducing costs.

In combination with the “pure-ZK” model, this "optimistic" style model provides developers with a wider and more diverse tradeoff space to play in when creating dApps and features!

Key Features for DeFi Protocols

As a whole, our integration with the Brevis ZK Coprocessor  enables advanced use cases including:

  • VIP loyalty programs based on historical trading volumes.

  • Continuous Protocol Incentivization Programs to reward ongoing engagement.

  • Automated order execution for active liquidity management.

  • Enhanced LVR protection and optimized farming reward distribution.

Looking Ahead

This dual innovation of cross-chain restaking and the ZK Coprocessor models positions Kernel at the forefront of BNB Chain's evolution. We're committed to working closely with Brevis to implement these features, with deployment timelines aligned with our upcoming roadmap phases.

For developers, integration remains straightforward through simple configuration flags, while users benefit from enhanced security, increased rewards, and expanded opportunities across the BNB ecosystem.

About Brevis

Brevis is an efficient, verifiable off-chain computation engine that brings limitless computation capacity to existing smart contract blockchains. Utilizing zero-knowledge proofs, Brevis offloads data-intensive, costly computations from on-chain environments to a drastically lower-cost off-chain engine, and empowers Web3 applications to scale seamlessly while preserving the security of L1 trust assumptions.

With Brevis’s versatile Go SDK, smart contracts can access blockchain states, transactions, and receipts across multiple blockchains and timeframes. DApps can transform complex business logic that are expensive to execute with smart contracts into succinct, low-cost circuit outputs that are mathematically verifiable on-chain. Powered by Brevis, use cases like data-driven DeFi, personalized GameFi experiences, and on-chain reputation systems can unlock the full potential of decentralized data, and accelerate blockchain adoption on a broader scale.
